The clamp does not close even when empty, you need a large plate with large edges and even then it is not stable. Dangerous clamp that I do not recommend.

Not solid at all.
I wanted to take a pizza plate out of the oven, and the plastic melted.
You will say, the plastic doesn't stick to such a hot plate. Ok, but what's the point of taking this clamp if you have to be cautious of what's too hot? And then, it's not sturdy, just nice for taking out a microwave oven plate and not too heavy.
Check if this material exists in stainless steel or other materials.
